Yin Yoga

YIN YOGA IMMERSION

This is a program designed to help students gain a new physique and detoxify their bodies for a short period of time. By working consistently over 5 days of Yin Yoga, you will experience a total shift in your own body. Yin Yoga is known for its therapeutic approach to restore the balance in the body. Based on Chinese Medicine Meridian Theory Approach, it will help you find ease of movement and be relieved of all tensions and tightness in the body, especially around the lower back, hips, neck and shoulder. It also brings vitality to major organs in the body to help detoxification.

Each day, you will experience a different Yin Yoga sequence which will help you work on different parts of the body to achieve release of tissues. Contraction and adhesion of fascia sheets cause tightness in the body. By doing Yin Yoga, you will open up these deep layer tissues to provide hydration back to the body and achieve better “Chi” flow. This course is suitable for students who want to slim-down, relieve aches and pains, improve sleep and relieve stress from the body and mind.

Yin Yoga is the foundation practice for many other forms of yoga. It highly complements students who are practicing dynamic yoga to bring balance to the tissues in the body. This course will enable students who want to advance in their asana practice to truly see real results in gaining flexibility and strength in their body. The sequence helps students achieve deep hip opening and improvement in backbendingasanas.

Students will be given advice on diet plans during this course and are encouraged to eat vegetarian meals throughout this time.

NOTE: YIN YOGA IMMERSION IS A PREREQUISITE FOR THE 50-HOUR YIN YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN MANILA IN 2017.

YIN YOGA MERIDIAN IMMERSION

Meridians are “chi” pathways in the body that connect external limbs to the internal organs. There are many channels in the body documented in both Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda. Both systems profess the idea of energy pathways travelling in the body to connect the limbs with internal organs. Traditionally, precise movements have been prescribed to stimulate these pathways to bring more vitality into the organs. They can be found in traditional martial arts or internal cultivations (e.g. Chi Gong). In this immersion, we will be working on some of these pathways to awaken the meridians and to work deep in the fascia layers where the meridians dwell.

This immersion is suitable for anyone who would like to improve their health and strengthen their internal organs. We will combine the Yin form with ancient Taoist Six Healing Sound Meditation to further awaken the organs via specific sound stimulation. The immersion will begin daily on stimulating the main meridian gateways and bring consolidation of the energy by the Six Healing Sound Meditation. Yin Meridian Yoga is a systematic practice that stimulates the Yang Channels and grounds the Yin Channels. It is a combination of Indian classical Yoga movements with Taoist Chi Gong. By working in this form, you can become more open in the joints and gain internal strength.

NOTE: THIS IMMERSION IS A PREREQUISITE FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND YIN YOGA MERIDIAN TRAINING.
